This page describes the parameters for some SIP providers.

You can send me the parameters that you use with your provider. This will allow to help the new users.

Remark

In some case, the resolution of addresses is impossible. So it does not possible to establish calling. You can try to replace the literal value by its IP address.

  Hi, I got it working with VOIPBUSTER, and my free trial ran out. I paid for a real account, and suddenly your application started to not respond. It connects to the AP, then is ready for input. I enter my local number and it responds with "CALLING" instead of "EARLY" like it used to. And If i press a digit, The application crashes. after every single time I actually got the application to call somewhere, the microphone would stop working.

    I have been the same problem yesterday at London. SvSip worked one time and after, I obtained Calling and after Disconnected. I will test at home. But I broke my right hand , so it’s very difficult to use computer

    Did you (trevelyn) buy any minuts? I also get the same message as you did. Im signed up for sipphone. I was signed up for freecall. When i was signed up for freecall i was able to call people untill a ran out of free trials. So im thinking in order for it to work we need to buy minuts unless if you already have minuts then in that case i dont know.

  i have found heaps of different config.txt files and reference’s all over the net, but none of them work for me. wifi is connecting fine. AP is connected to.
  
  when i run svsip.nds it boots up shows that the AP is connected to. then both screens go blank, but i can hear the dial pad and touch buttons working but can’t see them.

  Your sip account is always the same. But for WIFI connexion, you must configure it when you change of access point.
  
  If you use differents access points but often the same (home, work, school...). You can configure its in firmware (three max) by commercial game. And when you configure WIFI connexion for SvSIP, you must indicate "use Nintendo WFC Data". Don’t forget to save your choice.
  
  For the first question, what do you want to do ? Conference ?

        It took a few tries but I have got this working brilliantly. Im just about to try making free calls freecall.com You apparantly get 300mins a week per IP to some landlines (as listed), UK is included so im happy about that. I have a sipgate account that works great if you have one SIP phone per IP address, otherwise it wont work and the most recent to connect takes over. I can receive calls to my DS from landlines via the 0845 number I set up with sipgate with no problems. I have not charged any credit onto the account to test making calls with sipgate. I will test making landline calls soon from my DS with freecall and tell you how that turns out.
        
        As a request to Samuel, It would be great to be able to disconnect and switch between config files that I have made from within SbSIP,without having to turn off my DS and rename/ move config files about all the time. That and a phonebook to store numbers.
        
        Im checking this site every day for updates I want SvSIP to as good as replace my mobile phone. Sweet pieace of kit. Thanks for your efforts!

        Okay I just tried calling some landlines with freecall.com account from my DS... The calls went thru fine, I could call UK landlines from my DS, but there is a bit of lag happening.. I can hear them fine, but it takes at least 5 secconds for them to be able to hear me, then there is a small delay happening constantly, and I come thru very quietly and crackled. What is the highest volume setting for the mic in the config, I have it on 3.0, will it go any higher. And does anybody know if the mic quality of a headset might be better than the DS’s built in one. To be fair, games that involve recording voice seem to pick it up and replay it fine, allways a bit quiet tho. Maybe if SvSIP had a way of amplifying the mic volume further.
        
        As another suggestion, I would say having on-screen volume and mic-volume controls would be good.

        I got my mic going at 7.0. 10 is the highest setting but 7 works fine with me. Also, I don’t think you get 300 minutes free per per week per IP address. I used freecall before and I got only like a minute of free calling. Afterwards, I got some message saying I ran out of free minutes and had to buy more.

        OKay you DEFINATELLY get 300 free minutes I have been using it for ages now. Without the STUN support it seem to take a good 10-20 secs from connection for people to be able to hear me on my DS, and then the quality is still quite poor at times, but it is passable. I call buscall often enough with it and they understand me fine.
        
        I cant wait for the next version, I hope you manage to fix STUN support, but im still holding out for an address book and multiple SIP accunt support.

      Dif access points are configured differently, some are wepless others arent so you will need to find out.. harsh I know.
      
      Im going to put together a list of the dif. wifi settings for places that I find.. like Mac D’s, stabucks, post offices, etc. Will take a while tho.
      
      Id love a DS app that tries to identify the settings needed for the closest access point to the DS.. I know people are working on tools to figure WEP keys out, not sure how thats coming allong

      I don’t think you can, they(SIP providers) are using different mechanism like username...I don’t think you are able to call in from other except you apply(pay) for a number from your provider.

  For the moment there is a bug in STUN, so if stun server is required for your provider, you can’t use SvSIP.

I believe an easy and useful feature to thsi already useful app would be allowing users to dial letters as well as numbers. With most of the providers, calls to another SIP ID do not use minutes. This would make DS to DS calling as easy as exchanging SIP IDs instead of users having to buy a call-in number.

    Perhaps until you tackle the GUI, you could use a speeddial system that loads from a text file. The file would be plaintext, one entry per line.
    
    For instance, hitting speeddial 3 would load the 3rd line of the text file into the call field. User doublechecks the line is correct then hits send.
    
    As for editing the file, there are already text editors out there for the DS, and chances are if someone can get SVSip on their DS they can use those as well This could be used as the foundation for a later phonebook system.

    Are you working on it, the only reason I was trying ICE because I know it can sometimes be used as a substitute for STUN...you havn’t released a new version in awhile and I really would like to see what that keyboard was all about, you should probably release a new version just to let everybody know you ARE still working on it, and in the next version if not that version fix STUN...we all REALLY want STUN...

  You need to type 00 if you make an international call. In your case, it depends of your SIP provider.

i added svsip (the newest version) to my ds and filled out the config. everything works fine but when i dial a number, the status shows calling for about 10 seconds then goes to disconnected. any help would be appreciated

I am new to using SvSip and I cannot get it to work properly. I am using voipbuster port 5060. I configured the router to allow the calls. The DS connects to the wireless signal. SvSIP loads and connects to the access point. I see the keypad, then I type in the number I want to call. I put the 00 before the number, then the country code 1 for the US, then the number and hit dial, immediately I get the message:

"Invalid URL sip:0018005551212@(null) Invalid URL sip:0018005551212@(null)"

  I never tested on Ekiga, so I can’t help you.
  
  But I think, you have for your SIP(Ekiga) account a username, passwd and server. This 3 informations must be inserted in config.txt file.

I dial a number and the following annoying comes up:

"01482######Invalid URL sip:01482######@(null)"

Am I right in thinking that the username and password are the ones provided to me by my local ISP/telephone service? If not, I would really appreciate it if someone told me where to register to get the username and password because I have no idea what else it could be. I use "freephonie.net"

  got this working brilliantly. Im just about to try making free calls freecall.com You apparantly get 300mins a week per IP to some landlines (as listed), UK is included so im happy about that. I have a sipgate account that works great if you have one SIP phone per IP address, otherwise it wont work and the most recent to connect takes over. I can receive sikis,porno,turk sikis erotik hikaye,seks öyküleri,amcik porno izle indir Porno izlecalls to my DS from landlines via the 0845 number I set up with sipgate with no problems. I have not charged any credit onto the account to test making calls with sipgate. I will test making landline calls soon from my DS with freecall and tell you how that turns out.
